Roasters Guild Certification Program Apprentice Level

The Roasters Guild Certification Program recognizes specialty roasters who achieve a high degree of skill and excellence in roasting, across three levels: Apprentice, Journeyman and Master.
Roasters who commit to a course of study in the Roasters Guild certification program can expect to expand their knowledge of the craft across many subject areas and achieve both personal and professional recognition among their peers.
The first module for the Apprentice Level will take place on February 6 - 10, 2012 at the Guatemalan National Coffee Association's Headquarters in Guatemala City.

Classes included:
Credit #A3 GE 103 Introduction to Cupping
Credit #A9 GE 303 Triangle Testing
Credit #A10 RP 110 Basic Roasting Equipment & Operation
Credit #A2 RP 202 Introduction to Craft Roasting
Credit #A8 RP 208 Roaster Plant Safety
Mr. Chris Wade from Coffee Bean International will teach the courses as a representative of The Specialty Coffees Association of America (SCAA). He has an experience of eleven years in the industry working with small and medium roasting equipment, and is a member of The Executive Council of Roasters Guild .
Courses will be imparted in English language with Spanish translation, they include materials in Spanish.
An Apprentice Level Module 1 diploma will be extended by The Specialty Coffees Association of America.
Cost per participant US$250.00 it includes the Roasters Guild certification for module 1, and materials in Spanish.
