The first module for the Apprentice Level will take place on February 6 - 10, 2012 at the Guatemalan National Coffee Association's Headquarters in Guatemala City.
The Roasters Guild Certification Program recognizes specialty roasters who achieve a high degree of skill and excellence in roasting, across three levels: Apprentice, Journeyman and Master.

El Programa de Certificación de Roasters Guild reconoce a los tostadores de cafés especiales que alcanzan un alto nivel de de habilidades y excelencia en el tueste, en tres niveles distintos: Aprendíz, Oficial y Maestro.
Cup of Excellence® (COE) Guatemala internet auction results
As in previous years, producers gathered in Anacafé's headquarters to support their coffees on the Cup of Excellence® Guatemala internet auction on July 7, 2011. Visitors got the chance to taste the twenty-nine coffees being auctioned and meet with each other, in an event that the Guatemalan National Coffee Association organizes, to promote quality coffees to international buyers. Working with the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) these auctions help producers get a better price for their exceptional coffees.
Twenty-nine coffee lots were chosen to participate in the 2011 Cup of Excellence® (COE) auction on July 7.
Coffees participating in the Cup of Excellence® program went through a strict quality evaluation process. From the 167 samples listed for the pre-selection process, 79 participated in the National Competition. Out of these, 47 qualified to go on to the International Competition where the 29 auction lots were selected.
The magic of chooices at SCAA 2011
From April 28 to May 1, Guatemalan Coffees will be participating on the Specialty Coffee event of the Year, organized by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), one of the most important events on the coffee industry. The event venue this year is the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston Texas.
