Guatemalan Coffees are 98% shade grown.
This allows coffee beans to mature slowly, improving the attributes of body and acidity in the cup.

EL MIRADOR
Villa Canales, GUATEMALA

The property is located in Villa Canales, place near Guatemala City. El Mirador could be considering a young coffee plantation, since it has plants from 1 to 15 years old. It has an extension of 42 hectares, of which 90% are dedicated to produce quality coffee.

Property was funded on 1993, by his current owner Mr. Néstor Salazar, who it initiated with a small extension, later he acquired other lands from La Esperancita farm, to complete 42 hectares to produce coffee.

El Mirador, is a property environmentally blessed, since it has a water source, that is covered by a tunnel of 40 meters in length, illuminated, that is supervised periodically. We also have a beautiful waterfall, 12 meters high approximately, surrounded by natural and wonderful forests.

Our coffee plantation is sustainable; all coffee plants used are produce in El Mirador, seeding with our own seed. The soil is prepared with organic fertilizer; every two years, organic fertilizer is applied. Environment its an important topic for us, 10 months ago we begun a project to produce lombricompost, using pulp from wet mill process and worms, they are placed in a special space to capture humic acids, to use it like foliar fertilizer.

We process our coffee in an ecological wet mill, with water recirculation, and we also have a water treatment plant. All the coffee produced in our property is dried in the area of patios, that has an extension of 6000 square meters.
