Agrícola Mercantil Claima, is a partnership company, whose main activity is coffee production.
They have three coffee plantations, all located in Huehuetenango: Annex El Naranjo, located in village Naranjo and Annex El Chaparral, located in village La Democracia, both has an altitude approximated of 1300 meters. Recently, they bought the third Annex, La Pastora, located in Huixoc village, San Pedro Necta, where coffee is produced to an altitude range of 5.500 to 5.900 feet.
Agrícola Mercantil Claima, was founded on 1999; its founding partner has more than 40 years of experience, producing quality coffee.
People from Huixoc Village, say that La Pastora was established as coffee plantation 50 years ago. At the moment, are planted different varieties: Caturra, bourbon, Mundo Novo and Arabic. Additional coffee, we also produce avocados.
La PASTORA, is a rectangular area, located at south of Huixoc Village. A combination of special soil, climate characteristics and a delayed harvest (at end of April), give us as result an extraordinary strictly hard bean coffee.
