Guatemalan Coffees are 98% shade grown.
This allows coffee beans to mature slowly, improving the attributes of body and acidity in the cup.

La Bendición
Yepocapa, CHIMALTENANGO

Located at 8 kilometers from Yepocapa, Chimaltenango, in the Natural Region of the Volcanic Lands, the property stands at 1,390 meters above the sea level and within a warm dry climate, strong winds, high humidity and temperatures that vary regularly between 20 and 35 degrees Celsius, a plantation of 45 hectares where the varieties of Borbon and Caturra coffees are predominant.

The annual precipitations distributed and constant during the entire year exceed the 3,000 millimeters.

The hills and undulated grounds where the highly pronounced down hills are located have deep and well drained soils, that are worked out over sand and volcanic ashes, due to the constant eruptions of Volcan de Fuego.

The property has belonged to the family since 1990, when they had the opportunity of acquiring it and annexing it to the main property of Santa Elisa Pachup. More than three generations dedicated to coffee growing, this is how the passion of producing the grain has been found, by trying year after year to take the plantations to their highest production and through a selection of varieties that can adapt to the climate conditions of the area, to reach excellent qualities in order to be able to compete in the nowadays most demanding markets. All of this has been accomplished by following the basic rules of sustainable agriculture, by respecting the environment and by improving the living conditions of the hundreds of participants in the seedtime, maintenance, harvest and selection of every grain that is produced.
