Green Fact
Guatemalan Coffees are 98% shade grown.
This allows coffee beans to mature slowly, improving the attributes of body and acidity in the cup.

San Rafael Pacún
Acatenango, CHIMALTENANGO

San Rafael Pacun is located in Acatenango, municipality of Chimaltenago department, between the volcanoes of Acatenango an Atitlan. It has many microclimates that added to the plant varieties and farm handling, makes its coffee exceptional.

Gustavo Pérez is the owner; this is the fourth generation of owners. The coffee was farmed since my grandparents until now. Since then we tried to have the best coffee of the world. Why are we proud of this? Because is the result of a strict quality control through out the whole process, since the management of the plantation, the picking and the wet mill, we have won gold medals (1962), participated 3 Cup of Excellence, and 5th place in the Roasters Guild Coffee of the Year Competition 2008.

The technological criterion applied to the harvest is environmentally friendly, in order to preserve and improve the natural resources that they have. The harvested coffee is completely ripe and is processed in a wet mill. Quality control, effort and care are essential elements throughout the whole process, starting in production, harvesting, processing, washing, drying and storing the product.
