Green Fact
Guatemalan Coffees are 98% shade grown.
This allows coffee beans to mature slowly, improving the attributes of body and acidity in the cup.

San Sebastián
San Miguel Dueñas, SACATEPEQUEZ

Salvador Falla Santos founded San Sebastián farm in 1890 and it is now managed by Estuardo Falla Castillo, the fourth generation.

Ever since, San Sebastián farm has cultivated one of the most acknowledged brands of Antigua coffee. It has also utilized vanguard technology techniques. Over a hundred years, the farm has managed to produce consistently quality coffee and one of the best in the world. Its quality controls include a cupping lab for analyzing every lot that is harvested. Coffee is 100% sun dried and hand picked. The farm has a traditional wet and dry mill and patios to dry the coffee.

What proves its consistent quality?
In 1900, the farm won a gold medal in the First Agriculture Contest; in 1904 it won a silver medal in the National Exposition of September; next year, in the same contest, it won the gold medal; in 1942, it won Mill and Quality Coffee, Quality Coffee of the Central Zone and in 1968 Anacafé awarded it Quality Cup (above 4,000 Feet), and recently, in 2002 and 2007 it was awarded with the prestige Cup of Excellence. The farm is certified with Coffee Practices.

The farm was also part of the Soil Study of Antigua Region, by the Antigua Coffee Growers Association, APCA (by its Spanish meaning).
