After seven years of work, our Geographic Information System (GIS) has become a complex database containing key information that helps in getting to know and understand Guatemalan Coffees. To date, 95% of cooperatives, as well as approximately 20% of farms, have been identified, registered and geopositioned.

GIS data is being combined with high-definition photography of the country and cartographic information in two and three dimensions. In order to turn this database into a useful and efficient tool, it needs to be accessible to interested people. Therefore, we are currently developing our Coffee Search System.

This application will be available through this website and will allow you to make advanced browsing of Guatemalan Coffees according to attributes like type, variety, growing altitude, growing region and harvest season, among others. Findings will be shared and displayed using Google™Maps technology. For a more interactive experience, you will also be able to load results into Google™Earth software, which must be previously installed in your computer.
